unable to create avi's with indeo 5.11

I have been trying to create an avi with the indeo 5.11 codec but keep getting the error "unable to write to avi" or similar from the program's used to create it. I get the same error in different avi creation/editing programs. Other codecs work fine. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the codecs as well as trying to use the 5.10 version which also failed, leading me to believe it a problem with the codec. I have previously used v5.10 without problems so it may be a problem with a corrupted file? any surgestions.

Did you use indeo5.10 in Premiere5.1 ?

I'd like to find out which file I need to download to be able to make avi products in Premie5.1.
I have the codec on the machine but I don't have it as an option in Prem5.1
