I am writing a Win9x/ME based app , and I have the winio DLL / LIB so I can
call ring 0 code and directly access the ports without trouble from the OS.
I need to discover the sector buffer or DMA transfer buffer address(es),
save them for later restoring, and set the registers on the IDE controller
so the address(es) point to my application's read / write buffers.
I feel the need
for speed
and I can't get an accurate trasnfer rate reading or data transfer speed
from reading the data from the hard drives directly, WORD by WORD. I need
to set the controller buffers to addresses of my own choosing, then restore
the original buffer addresses before the app unlocks the disk and lets
Windows have it back.
