Sorry for my "poor" english !
I've two MB with 440BX and 440LX chipset (Mother board are ASUS P2-BF)with two ultra ata 66 hard disk(quantum KA 8gb)
This is my question:
at bios prompt I read udma4 transfer rate (ATA 66) but , using this setup(I've an ultra ata cable)i've many problem during transfer data beetwen one hard disk to mother board.
If I downgrade the HDD bios to ATA33, I resolve all my problems and, on the bios prompt,I read udma2 transfer rate.
question !:are 440bx and 440lx chipset really support udma4 ?

Thank's and regard !

No, they do not. The 440BX and 440LX chipset support a maximum of Ultra/2
(ATA33).

Some Award-BIOS systems (which it sounds like you might have) have
trouble running ATA66 drives on systems where the chipset doesn't support
it. Disabling ATA66 at the drive interface, as you have seen, usually
fixes the problems.

The BIOS detects ATA66, but the board can't deliver that.
