I have a problem with the floppy drive on the Intel D815EEA2 Motherboard. I
am unable to format a floppy disk. I can read data on previously written
floppies and can write data to floppies that are already formatted but
recieve an error on initial track and sector. I have tryed many makes of
floppy disk, three floppy drive cables, 3 different floppy drives and a new
motherboard (Same make) with the same error. Does anybody know of a known
fault with this board or of a fix for this problem and has anyone
experienced a similar problem. A member of my family works for a business
that has a PC network and some of the PC's have this board in them and
experience similar problems. They have not found a solution yet. Does Intel
have a customer support Email. I couldn't find one on their site.

Cheers

Dave,

http://program.intel.com/shared/products/boards/d815eea2/index.htm
The above link is to the products web-site at Intel.com. I have not heard of
this issue on Intel motherboards. What OS are you running at the time? Have
you tried accessing the floppy in DOS? Are the floppies write proteced? What
is the exact error?
