I think this may be tied to the Intel 815E chipset but can't be sure. Has anyone else seen this with Pro throttle or TM HOTAS rig (or any rig that plugs into gameport and kb)? I have a CH ProThrottle/Fighterstick/ProPedals combo. When plugging in the Fighterstick only(and not into the kb) everything works fine.
Since replacing my motherboard (with the SE6), I have the following problems with my hotas:
1- When in joystick calibration using either windows or your ChJoyDrv, my machine locks up as soon as I hit any key or button. Resetting the power switch on the case is the only way to clear this.
2 - When I try to open Speed keys (the programming app) I get an error “Could not find device.. make sure your device is connected to the gameport and keyboard port”. Clicking OK closes SKeys.
The setup works fine in my other machine (P3 450 w/128mb and BX MB that runs at 100mhz).
Here’s what I tried:
- Set key repetition rate to 6hz in BIOS - Checked connections - Bump FSB speed to 66mhz - Replaced keyboard with a P/S2 one (non programmable) - Placed sound card in other PCI slots - Checked for outages in Device manager (none there) - Checked that the on board sound and video were disabled
Here’s my machine specs: Abit SE6 MB (Intel 815E chipset) P3 700E 256mb ram IBM 7200 15gb HD Maxtor 7200 30 HD Toshiba 12x DVD drive Diamond mx300 sound card Voodoo 5500 agp 3c905b 3 com NIC Avermedia TV/FM tuner Win98 SE All components have latest drivers.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks, Brian
