Thank you for contacting Intel Technical Support. The life cycle for the
DA28F640J5 is estimated through 2004 - the timeframe is only a guideline.
For new designs, Intel is recommending to design with the 3 Volt Intel(R)
StrataFlash(TM) Memory instead. This device will be manufactured on the
latest process technology, providing a longer life cycle.

The 3 Volt StataFlash Memory architecture is similar to the first generation
5 Volt Intel(R) StrataFlash(TM) Memory. An app note titled "AP-660
Migration Guide to 3 Volt Intel® StrataFlashT Memory" discusses the
technical differences and enhancements between both the devices. The
