We use the Intel E28F640 J3A120 (A01800288)
strata flash in a MIPS processor based system.
Initial programming using a JTAG CORELIS programmer,
connected to the processor was not possible.
(We use it in 16 bit mode)

After changing the first byte of the program mode from
40 Hex to 10 Hex programming went without problems.

According to documentation the 40H 'mode' is the normal
and the '10H' mode the alternative way.

Why is the normal mode not working ?
What is the difference between these two write modes ?

Hi,

Thank you for contacting Intel Technical Support. There should be no
difference between the 40H or 10H program commands. In order to assist you
better, I will need additional information regarding your problem. What
exactly are you seeing when you issue the 40H command? What does the status
register read? Have you seen this issue on more than one device? Is this a
new or existing design? I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards,
Tamara P.
