Thank you for contacting Intel Technical Support. I must apologize for the
delayed response.
Q1) If byte read initial access current is 40mA, does that mean that each
of the successive intra-page reads (up to 3) are at 24mA each, or are all
page reads (initial included) at 24mA.
A1) All page reads, including the initial read, are at 24mA.
Q2) If |OE is low w/a 30pF load, what will the current draw be (specs are
given with |OE high)
A2) We have not performed any testing under this configuration.

Tamara P.

Because the device is "on" because CE# is low, the device is in active mode.
Reason, even though the device is not reading, writing, or in standby, it is
in an active state waiting for a command. As a result, the current spec.
needs to be used is the ICCR = 50mA for CMOS and 65mA for TTL inputs.
Therefore, your assumption is correct, as long as CE# is low and RP#, WE#,
and OE# can be either high or low, it is still in active mode. The only
exception is if RP# is low, then everything is in reset/power-down mode. If
CE# is high, then everything is in standby mode and ICCS = 25uA typical for
CMOS and 2mA typical for TTL inputs.
