I have checked the printer settings in Windows 95 (although I do not think SAP
uses this) and the form feed box is not checked. We will be using HPLJ6P
printers and netport pro units throughout our site when we go live on SAP in
about a months time and we cannot have this blank page after each print job.
Any ideas?

Hi Nick,
We don't actually support SAP, so I am not sure how you have it setup. Often the
way to resolve the extra page is if you have it setup as a text print queue
(LPT1_TEXT for example), and you can change it to pass through (such as
LPT1_PASSTHRU).
The other issue is to make sure you are running version 4.41a of the firmware, as on
versions 4.10a and earlier, there was an issue where a extra form feed would print,
usually with a black diamond character. This only happened when the queue was setup
as a PASSTHRU type queue.

I do not understand the part of your message about 'setup as a text print
queue (LPT1_TEXT for example), and you can change it to pass through (such as
LPT1_PASSTHRU)' is this how the netport is set up or how SAP is set up?
I have also contacted SAP about the problem to see if they can shed any light.

Hi Nick,
Again, because we do not support SAP*, I am just giving you suggestions as best as
I can. In a TCP/IP environment, the print queues are setup on the hosts either by
port numbers (3001, 3002, 2501) or by queue names of <PORT>_PASSTHRU or
<PORT>_TEXT, where <PORT> is either LPT1, LPT2, or COM1. PASSTHRU usually works,
unless you need a form feed, carriage return for a dot matrix printer, etc.
For example, in Windows NT* LPR printing, when you add a printer as an LPR port,
it asks for IP address and printer queue name. The printer queue name is where we
add the LPT1_PASSTHRU. In other UNIX systems, such as HP-UX, using its SAM
utility, LPT1_PASSTHRU is added as the queue name on remote host.
Hope this helps a bit.

I remember a few months ago now there were many messages relating to SAP and
netports on the forum, I cannot find them now unfortunately.
I hit a bit of a wall with SAP and they have referred me through some other
channels, ever get the feeling you're going round in circles?
Anyway, thanks again for the information you have supplied.
