I have LANDesk Mananger Pro v6.0 running on a Windows NT 4.0 Server (the
management card is not installed). I have configured LANDesk to use a
3Com/USR internal modem and therefore the LANDesk Modem Arbiter loads. Am I
right in thinking the Modem Arbiter 'grabs' exclusive use of the modem? If
this is true, is there a way to share the modem with other applications that
need access to the 3Com modem?

The Arbiter takes exclusive rights of the modem session as long as the Server Manager console is open. By closing the console, all sessions are closed and the Arbiter releases the session.
You will need to install another console modem or install the management card with the on board modem to have other applications connect to that machine.
Have a good one!
