Inventory problems

We are running LANDesk 6.3 in a 25,000+ node network. We are having
problems with the inventory function. Machines are not being picked up
by the scans. We have tried to clear the registry and reset the Device
ID, but it still misses PCs. People are getting frustrated with the
process and we are looking for a fix/workaround. We are speculating it
may be a problem with some PCs not having MS Networking installed
(mixed NT/Novell environ). Anyone have any other ideas? or has anyone
else experienced the same problem? Thanks for the help.
