I first installed Norton, and it worked fine. But when I installed Intel
LANDesk Management Suite 6.3 and rebooted I got "The ordinal 27 could
not be located in the dynamic link library in PDS.DLL" at startup. And
then Norton Service doesn't start? This is what I found in the Event
Viewer:
The Norton AntiVirus Server service depends on the Intel PDS service
which failed to start because of the following error:
The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely
fashion.
So I guessed that they user different versions of PDS.DLL, so I
installed a new server with just Norton Antivirus. But when I installed
the LDMS-client I got the same error again!! I cannot get Norton to work
again. I've tried uninstalling the client and reinstalling Norton. Still
no luck.
However. LDMS-client and Norton-client can work together (so far I've
seen no problem with this setup)
What do you make of this? Is there different versions of PDS.DLL for
Norton and Intel? How do I get Norton to work again without reinstalling
the whole server?

The PDS.DLL from LANDesk(R) Management Suite 6.3 Must be copied over to the
Server. You can not do it from windows, so boot to DOS and copy the file
from the CD. This file is compressed as I remember so you will need to use
the expand command.
