Do you have any ideas?

What network protocol are you using, TCP/IP? Try pinging the core server with the IP address. If this works then try to ping the core server by its computer name.
if the computer name fails the problem is Name resolution, Wins. Do you have a Wins server setup, and so on.

I used TCP/IP.
I tried to ping the core server: it works.
I can resolve also the name of the server trying to ping it.
I tryed also the command:
\\<Coreserver>\LDLOGON\LDISCN32 /NTT=<coreserver's IP-Address>:5007 /S="<Coreserver's name>" /V
but I receive the same error as before.
Thanks,
Try using this line:
\\<Coreserver>\LDLOGON\LDISCN32 /V /o=test.scn
Then look in the ldclient directory of the server for a file called
test.scn.
Copy the test.scn into the \Intel\DTM\ldscan directory on the core server.
If it disappears, you know your inventory service is working properly and
you need to look deeper at your network configuration. (Wins, DNS etc...)
Or maybe there is a typo in your LDISCN32 command line.
If it stays in the LDSCAN directory and doesn't disappear then you have a
problem with your inventory service.

I run the command you suggest me. I found the file TEST.SCN and I copied it under directory \Intel\DTM\ldscan on the Core Server.
The file doesn't disappear...
I check in the event viewer and I found following error:
The description for Event ID ( 0 ) in Source ( Intel Server Monitor )
could not be found. It contains the following insertion string(s):
Intel Server Monitor error: 0, .
Thanks for your help,
Fabrizio
Make sure it's running under services of your core server. If it's not, try
starting it. Make sure it's set to Automatic.
If it fails to load, run svccfg.exe from the core server and make sure you
have your core properly configured to connect to the database.
I don't think the error you listed is related.
You'd probably be best to open a call with Intel at this point.
