Good day,
I'm creating a newtork boot disk (created from windows NT server manchine, then edited it to add the intel drivers. the machine has 2 intel PRO NIC cards (a pro 100+ management adapater and 5255X based adapter). I get an error when loading the drivers from the boot disk, (have tried drivers for both cards)

ERROR: The driver detected multiple INter(r) pro pci adapters in PCI slots, therefore the SLOT parameter must be exactly specified for each PCI frive instance, and there must be and adapter in the SLOT specified. Use on value from the following list of PCI Slot Identifiers as a value for the SLOT parameter of each PCI driver instanace:
0x0003 0x0012
Failure driver did not load NDIS environment failed.
Error loading device driver E100B.DOS
Error 7386: the driver was not loaded.

Does anyone know where in the protocol.ini i need to set this SLOT command? and what is the actuall command syntax, i cannot find this anywhere,
Thanks folks
Kris

Kris:

In the protocol.ini you will find a section that contains drivername=e100b$
. Add a line that reads SLOT=0x0003 or SLOT=0x0012. Most likely the 0x0003
is the integrated NIC and SLOT=0x0012 is the add in NIC. I can not tell you
for sure since the slot number is dependant on BIOS enumeration.
