I have an old 1MBS Anypoint USB adapter based network. I have two
computers that are both new, both XP. I can readily access files or
printers on the server from the client and vice versa, but the client
cannot access the Internet. I get error messages on the client when I
try to access the Internet. If I use the client's telephone modem to
login to a phonic ISP, the speed I get is more than my telephone modem
connection but less than the the Anypoint adapter, yet I "feel" the
adapter is helping with the traffic.
Is there some setting or other for the network connection that will
"fix" this? BTW this was the same problem when I used Microsoft ICS
instead of the Anypoint software.
Since I have a Linksys router on my Cable modem, I'm thinking of
getting a wireless adapter for Internet access and just use the
Anypoint for what is pretty good peer-to-peer sharing.
