3945 wifi card code 10 error (XP)

I have a Dell Inspiron 9400 which has an Intel 3945ABG card installed.
No matter what I do the card will not show up in Device Manager. I've
done a clean install of XP, loaded up the chipset drivers and
everything else goes in just fine...no exclamation marks etc...however
the wifi card will not show.. if I try a manual driver install it will
then appear in Device Manager but with a code 10 error.I've tried all
driver options I can find from Dell and Intel with no luck. I may well
have to try a different card but has anyone here got any
ideas...cheers....LL
