Hi Everyone

I am facing a problem where the Intel 8255xER chip is not binding to
IPv6
protocol. On installing IPv6 from 'netsh' link-local addresses do not
appear
on these adapters.

I have tried the same test with several other Intel adapters like
PRO*100
etc and they work perfectly fine with IPv6.

Another variant of Intel 8255 i.e. Intel 8255xQM chips also work fine
with
IPv6.

Main problem I am facing is that this particular NIC (8255 ER) is not
accepting IPv6 multicast traffic although the data sheet of chip
claims IPv6
support.

I have also tried updating to latest drivers but that didnt help
either.

Do you know of any such issues with Intel 8255 ER chip? Can anyone
suggest a
solution or workaround for this problem?

I do not have an option of changing the NIC adapter, so that
possibility is
ruled out.

I have also tried using the chipset in question with Linux, where it
manages to create link-local addresses but can not receive IPv6
multicast messages.

Thanks a lot in advance..
