I just setup a new computer with the D845WN desktop motherboard. It had
v07 of the bios installed. I downloaded the express update to v09. I
have updated many BIOS configs through a floppy, but this was the first
time I tried the express installer. It ran and the computer restarted,
but never indicated that it was succesful. Now when I restart, I can't
access the setup pages. I tried to run the express update again and it
indicated that the BIOS was already at v09. I also tried the recovery
process with no improvement.

Any ideas how I can correct this situation? It also seems that the
computer is now slower to boot up (stays for a long time on the intel p4
splash screen).

Thanks,

I had a similar thing on my 845WN
here's what I did...

flip the motherboard jumper to bios recovery pos
try to boot - this should load default (mine was P7) from flash.

This did not work for me, so....rip out the coin cell battery and leave
things alone for a while. I left my 845WN for around an hour.

reinsert the coin cell and make sure the jumper is on the recovery pos and
then spark it up. I noted that my jumper was quite 'sticky' and seemed to
need a good push with a pair of needle-nose pliers.

Mine went through quite a delay, but pulled the bios back.

I then powered down, flipped the jumper back and then had another go.

Note that P10 bios has been posted and this is what I am using right now.

Hope this works

ps. more 845 stuff on intel.motherboards, including my request for info.
Once you got your 845 working maybe you can help me with my question too...
