New to servers - need help please

Apologies if this is the wrong newsgroup for my questions, please direct me
to the correct one if it is.
I've just bought a dual Xeon motherboard with 2 x 3ghz cpu's and 1gb ecc ram
and am going to attempt to build a server tower but am not up to speed on
them hence my request for assistance. I have built a lot of systems over my
25 or so years of building them but have never built a server type system.
I noticed from the bunpf in the manual that any psu used must have 24 pin, 8
pin and 4 pin connectors for the board, I have psu's with the 24 pin and 4
pin plugs but none with the 8 pin as well. Are the 8 pin a server specific
plug? it shows as 4 x 12 volt positive connection down one side and 4 x
ground on the other. I would like to use an ATX tower (the board is an
Extended ATX one) it is the psu that is giving me the headache. Is there a
psu that will fit straight into an ATX case using the normal screw holes?
and what sort of price could I get one which will be 420 watt or upwards
output?
Sorry for the questions but I can't afford to get it wrong.
