no disk under my computer

Hi,

I have a S875WP1-E motherboard with an integrated Promise SATA Raid
controller. I have attached a drive to the controller, it appears as a
perfectly healthy drive. I can see it from the controller BIOS, the
Windows based PAM utility, I could create a RAID-0 array (although it
will be a single drive), it appears under drive management in Windows
2000 SP4, I can create a partition, format it (NTFS). The problem is
that this driver will not appear under My Computer and it cannot be
reached from the command prompt using its assigned drive letter either.
I formatted it using quick format, slow format. Rebooted several times.
I use the drivers downloaded from the intel site and my Win2000 is
fully patched. Any ideas?
