OK, I have done everything possible, this issue is not fixable on some
units. I have been to Intel Tech Support many times, have had the
case elevated. Intel says the issue lies with the Legacy USB being
defaulted as on in BIOS and turning it off solves the issue (NOT SO)
BIOS ver. 16 also required to be there. I have 4 servers out there
now, 3 have this issue. Intel tech support cannot fix. Problem is
solved by using 3rd party SATA RAID adapter. I hear rumor that
Adaptec is having SATA RAID problems and not to use them. Funny that
Intel is using an Adaptec driver for the RAID on the S875WQP1-E.
Could this be the same issue? We have now used Western Digital RAID
SATA controller successfully, and have used Promise SATA RAID
Controller successfully. I donnot recommend ever using the onboard
RAID, as the problem seems to be able to crop up in the future, so you
never really know how reliable the server will be! The RAID degrade
issue seems to only happen on the S875WP1-E board only, as far as I
can tell. If you have any questions, email J.R. at
