I have looked and looked for this info on intels website but cannot fiind
it. Does anyone have a link to this info?
I am aware that the P-II and P-III xeon's can address up to 4 gb.
Thanks
GC
Only the first series of PIIs had the 512MB limit. The present series can access up to 4GB - HOWEVER, the limitation is not the CPU, check to see how much memory the motherboard supports.
Also, make sure you get the right memory, especially if you go for the big numbers. Check with the motherboard manufacturer to see what they certify the system to work with.

In any case, beware that the ZX and BX chipsets support different max memory sizes, regardless of CPU used...
Thanks for the info.

Is there anywhere to find out ideal RAM / CPU Cache size parings for the
P-III? I'm guessing this is why the P-III Xeon is available with different
size caches.

Gene,
The Pentium(R) III processor has a maximum cacheable limit of 4GB.
There is not an "ideal" cache configuration. The amount of memory depends on
the requirements of your operating system and appliations.
