I recently attempted to upgrade to 4A4LL0X0.15A.0023.P18 with a self extraction file that I got from Gateways website.
During the reflashing just before the sytem I got the error: "0251 System CMOS checksum bad. Default configuration used."
It appears that the Bios was reflashed because the BIOS setup utility indicates the new version P18 and the Processor Speed is still set a 300MHz. Also the menus int the BIOS Setup Utility have changed from the previos P05 version. I told Gateway about this problem and as usual their answer is to reflash the BIOS and maybe download the self-extractin file first since it may have been corrupted.
I would like to know if you think it is necessary to reflash.
When I use the Start Menu Suspend Mode my computer is awakend by the screen saver after the time interval that I had configured. Do you know what is causing this and how I might be able to get Suspend to work?
Thanks,
Brian Meyers
