can anyone help me. I might be getting a celeron 300a. The celeron 300a is
locked at a 4.5x multiplier. This means that it will run at 4.5 66Mhz = 300,
or 4.5 x 100Mhz = 450Mhz.. The chip in the celeron can manage 450Mhz.
However, will the celeron be able to run efficiently and not over heat (at
450) - providing I have heat sinks etc?

Has anyone done this? - if so have you lived to regret it? :-p

Also, with 128k cache - will I notice any difference when playing games (in
comparision to a PII with 512k cache)

I have overclocked my celeron 300A to 450 and it works like a charm...
unfortunatly I just voided my warranty by doing so( oh well who cares my company
paid for the chip :) ) and no you shouldn't notice a difference in games
espcially if you have the latest in video hard like a Riva TNT or voodoo2. The
cache running at full speed makes up the the size of it.

Vincent, You will find the computers of 2004 work a lot better for your
needs. Sorry for the delay in replying.
