350 Mhz PII reported as 266 Mhz Deschutes in BIOS

Hi

I just purchased a second hand system, with a Slot 1 Pentium II 350
Mhz processor.

On bringing it home I noticed that the processor is being shown as 266
Mhz. I tried to change the settings in the BIOS (CPU settings) but
here the max speed shown is 300 Mhz and the CPU as Deschutes. But on
saving at 300 Mhz, and rebooting the system reports 233 Mhz. I tried
hitting the F & J keys to reset the sytem to defaults, but still the
problem remains.

I'm positive that the vendor did not make any changes as I took the
delivery immediately after the system was tested ok.

I tried the Processor on another Motherboard that I have at it is
shown as a Pentium II 350 Mhz.

Any suggestion would be appreciated.
