There is a PIII newsgroup http://support.intel.com/newsgroups/pentiii.htm
There is no PII Motherboard group as there are no PIII motherboards. The PIII is supported by the "BX" chipset, the same used for the PII.
Best regards,
John C. Noibn
I'm planning on upgrading to dual proc 600 MHz Xeon when they come out later
this year. I guess they'll probably have to have new motherboards for the
new 133MHz bus also.

Hi,
Any comments on the stability (or lack thereof)?

MS is also starting to push gaming on W2K which is starting to infringe on
95/98's territory. Even so, we'll be seeing a new release of 98 in a month
or two...Windows 98 Second Edition. There's supposed to be a "step-up"
version for something like $19.95.
I expect W2K to be adopted much quicker in the corporate world than previous
releases of NT. I still don't see a big yearning for NT among home users.
From my experience, if your hardware is on the HCL, you'll probably like
W2K. Alot of things are not the same, but even while saying that, I think
W2K is more evolutionary than revolutionary.

Like the first release of NT4 or more like the 1st
release of 95?

Great, from now on we have to pay for Service
Packs then...

If they lowered the price I think some of them
would be more than happy to use it...

Hmmm, nothing changes, really...
Anyway, thanks for the feedback.
The "step up" is supposed to have the bug fixes plus the new 98 Second
Edition functionality. It is for people who already own 98 but also want the
new functionality that 98SE will offer.
Sounds like the service pack would have been quite large with the new
gizmos. The typical 98 home user might have alot of trouble downloading a
very large SP over a 28.8 modem. Since I work in computer support, I like to
have a CD on hand anyway if I can get it.
CD ROM are starting to show up on corporate machines and it makes loading
patches alot easier for an outside vendor like myself.
Is $19.95 really gonna kill ya?
If so, wait for the free SP to show up on Windows Update.
