BEWARE OF THE ACCELERAPCI'S PERFORMANCE COSTS, WHICH ARE
ADMITTED BY EVERTECH BUT UNDOCUMENTED.
I have an IDE drive, and a fast IBM UltraSCSI drive. With the
AcceleraPCI turned on, it takes THREE to TWENTY times as long to
write to a disk. For example:
Accelera Accelera
turned OFF turned ON
========== =========
write 100MB to SCSI 17 seconds 75 seconds
write 2MB to IDE <10 seconds 105 seconds

WinBench shows that AcceleraPCI makes me run 3-to-4 times slower
on the SCSI disk, and up to 20 times slower on the IDE disk.
When I asked Evertech about this, here's what they emailed me:
...."The loss in harddrive performance is normal for our AcceleraPCI
.... card because everything has to use the PCI bus now. This is an
.... unfixable problem."
CAVEAT EMPTOR!!
