I'm trying to upgrade my old 486 with one of the now inexpensive
overdrive chips. Although the mainboard manual says it is supported
after visiting the web site (which i didnt even know existed till a
few days ago) i found out i need a bios upgrade to enable the
write-back caching that the overdrive needs.

I found the proper bios upgrade on the website but the problem is that
the current bios chip isn't flashable and requires an EEPROM burner.
So i have two questions:

#1 Anyone know where i can find someone to burn me an EEPROM?
#2 Could i do the hotswap trick on a different computer and then put
THAT chip into this one?

extra info:

Motherboard: FIC GVT-2
Award Modular BIOS v4.50G twaNVersion 3.06
Bios ID: FC 01 00
