I bought an Intel InBusiness 8-port Fast Hub.

I have Internet with a cable connection (Wanadoo Cable) and so with a cable modem.
Until now, I have an other very simple hub (not Intel), on which I connected the cable modem in a socket called "Up link", and so I had internet on all my computers.
And my problem is that now it don't run with the InBusiness 8-port Fast Hub. Why ?

Please help me.

Hi Manuel,

From my experience most broadband devices such as a cable modem have only a 10
Mbps RJ45 (LAN port) on them. This means that they will not operate on a hub
that is a 100 Mbps only hub such as the one you have.

I would first suggest contacting your ISP or cable company (whoever provided the
cable modem) to verify the speed of the LAN port.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

The CableLabs® Certified™ Cable Modems project, formerly known as
DOCSIS™ (Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification), defines
interface requirements for cable modems involved in high-speed data
distribution over cable television system networks.

Current Certified modems have a half duplex UTP Ethernet
setup 10 Meg.
