I am running an Intel Deluxe PC camera on my Windows 2000 Professional
system with the beta drivers from Intel's site. I noticed that the
response time (and possibly framerate) seem a bit slow on this system,
as compared to a Pro PC camera I saw on a Windows 98 system the other
day. For example, I can look at the camera, then my "live" video
window on the monitor, and see my head move about a half second later.
I looked at the USB bandwidth resources, and there is no entry
allocated for this camera, which I suspect is a driver problem. This
is my only clue as to possible cause for this performance issue. I
have a Pentium III 500MHz with 512MB RAM and a Matrox G200, so I don't
think video or processor performance should be the problem in this
case.
Has anyone experience with this camera setup on Windows 2000 to say
whether they see similar results? Could this be a USB bandwidth
allocation issue?
Thanks,
- Wade

So there.
(please take out "erase" from the above to form my proper email address)
C&S balks at the W2K op sys and I have been able to fool VP.EXE using the
APCOMPAT.EXE file from W2K/support folder on the VP folder's SETUP.EXE
file.. It will not fool the main SETUP.EXE file located on the CD root
directory.
As a result, every attempt to install C&S fails after the pssword entry box.
The cam does work on Netmeeting.
Any words of wisdom ...???
