We have formed a Computer Support Club with twelve technology-oriented parents to collect, refurbish, and install computers in our public K-5 school. Charles Brown School is located about 25 minutes from Intel's Folsom site. We have children at our school whose parents work at Intel.
I'm hoping that some Intel employees would be willing to donate their own, personal, surplus computer hardware to our school. We can use anything from 286-up, complete or parts. The school is still using some first-generation computers with no hard-drives. Even empty computer cases with standard IBM-forms would be useful.
If you can help me find a way to get the word out to employees about this need, I would appreciate it.
I can be contacted at: doug...@innercite.com

Hello,
Intel's Corporate Contributions has several programs for donating
equipment, both used and new, to non-profit organizations, typically
K-12 schools, Community Colleges, and Universities. But in order to
focus our giving and maximize the results achieved, we have established
a set of criteria to guide our donations and sponsorship commitments.
These criteria generally emphasize math and science education and
technology literacy programs, proximate to our sites. There is
information on grants on our website at:
http://www.intel.com/intel/community/grants.htm for guidelines .
This also will show you how to apply if you fall within the guidelines.
Thanks for your interest in Intel,
Sara
