Dear Intel,
I am currently doing research on the evaluation and compensation methods of Japanese and American companies. I was wondering if you had any information available on the salary system in use at Intel. It performance-based, position-based, or a mix of both. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,
Gregg Hirohata-Goto

Hello Gregg,

Intel is a performance-based company. Intel benefits from
hiring talented professionals. And the talented
professionals who work here are rewarded with an exceptional
compensation and benefits package. Indeed, these benefits
and some unique programs help to keep Intel consistently
ranked among the best companies to work for in America. For
more information regarding our benefits please visit our
website at:

Thanks for your interest in Intel,

Sarah,

You mentioned that the "talented professionals" who work
at Intel are rewarded "with an exceptional compensation
and benefits package." Do you think these packages are
enough to keep these talented professionals "talented?"

Are there other incentives which the company should look
at to further promote the innovative side of each employee?
For example, greater challenges through redeployment strategies. These help the
organization as well as the individual employee to move
forward, grow, and fulfill the needs of the company. Does
Intel emphasize on "intraplacement?" I would imagine that
at a giant, high-tech company like Intel, intraplacement
would play a major role by retaining your talented pool of
employees and preventing external head-hunters. Furthermore,
the demand for technical staff is extremely high presently,
thus requiring high-tech companies to observe much more closely
its internal staff and keeping their work challenging.

Thank you for your time.

I look forward to your reply,
David
