This is a real time clock multimodule. I came across listings back when I was scouring ebay for 80/24 boards and a few of them had ZBX-348 attached. Unfortunately, those ones were overpriced, so I did not buy one. The RTC is based on the MSM5832 RTC ic, together with an 8255.
However, I like clocks, so one late evening when I was laying out pcboards, I threw together the layout for one. Not having an original board, I started from the MSM5832 datasheet which had an example that included an 8255 and I took a few educated guesses. There are several RTC that might have been better choices, but I chose to stick with this one dues to the historical occurrence of them.
It's not like it needs to be compatible with the actual ZBX-348, since I'm probably the only one who will ever use it, and the only one who will write software for it. Nevertheless, if anyone had the manual or schematic, or could decipher the layout, I'd be curious to know how close my guesses came to the real thing.
