bug report: certain gene name search result not expected

Dear IGB developers,

I use IGB Mac version 9.1.10.  I am using IGB to browse bam file with hg19 genome. Most of times I search a gene by name it works, but sometimes I found this weird problem: although I clicked the correct name, IGB would not return correct search hit. For example, I search gene name "PABPC1", IGB would give a list of genes containing this gene name, although I clicked "PABPC1", IGB still returns "PABPC1P2" as results. I have similar problems with some other genes search. Is this a bug? I attached some images here to describe the bug.

Hi Xiao,

We are aware of this bug. It occurs when using the range and search box if there are multiple genes with names that are subsets of each other.

Until we are able to resolve this, I would recommend using the Advanced Search tab. Double-clicking on PABPC1 in the Advanced Search results should take you to the correct location.
