4 – IDO Training Sessions
Mayor Tim Keller and the City of Albuquerque are committed to helping the community learn more about the new land use, zoning, and planning regulations that are part of the Integrated Development Ordinance (IDO), before the IDO becomes effective on May 17, 2018. (Read the full draft or learn more at: www.abc-zone.com).
It's important to learn how to use the new regulations and how they may impact your property or your part of town.
Our team of dedicated and knowledgeable planners and staff have set up daytime and evening IDO training sessions at various locations to conveniently serve city residents. In addition to the training sessions, City staff will also host weekly office hours for those who are unable to make it to one of the group meetings or for those with detailed questions about a specific property.
Weekly Lunchtime Training Sessions & Study Hall
Interactive training sessions will be offered every Friday from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. [Please note correct time] from January 19 through February 23 in the Basement Hearing Room of the City of Albuquerque Planning Department (600 2nd Street NW).
We encourage those interested in spending more time with the IDO to join us after the training session for "study hall" with staff from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. to dive deeper and find answers to more detailed zoning regulation questions.
Community Planning Area (CPA) Training Sessions
Evening meetings for the general public, neighborhood associations, residents, business owners, nonprofit groups, and other stakeholders will be offered in each of the City's 12 Community Planning Areas (CPAs) in January and February. Everyone is welcome at any of the CPA training sessions - just know that the discussion may be focused on issues specific to the CPA where the meeting is being held.
A Spanish language interpreter will be available at each CPA training session.
Un intérprete de español estará disponible en cada sesión de capacitación de CPA.
Click on the hyperlinked CPA names below for a more detailed map and a list of Neighborhood Associations and Coalitions for each CPA.
You can also look up which CPA covers the area where you live.
February 2018:
Weekly Office Hours
If you are unable to make it to one of the lunchtime training sessions or CPA training sessions, you can set up a one-on-one appointment during designated staff office hours. Simply email abc...@cabq.gov to
request an appointment on Monday afternoons. These meetings are especially well-suited for those with detailed questions about particular properties.
Spanish-Language Training
To ensure we reach even more of Albuquerque's residents, we will be hosting a training session presented in Spanish. The evening meeting for Spanish-speakers will be held on Thursday, February 22 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Coronado Elementary School (601 4th Street SW) in the Cafeteria.
To speak with someone in Spanish about the meeting, call Catalina Lehner at 505-924-3935.
We are looking at using the IDHCC ABQ email more often and are working out how that’s going to work best. Eloisa is checking it for us. It is idhc...@gmail.com
