Hello IDHCC family & friends. I am sure you all have heard of Reynaluz Juarez ‘s sudden passing. We are all devastated. Reyna was the heart of the International District and meant so much to so many; her love was boundless and immeasurable. Truly gone too soon. May we always strive to advocate for what Reyna wanted for her community “Una Vida Buena Y Sana”
Below are events to honor the life of a great community champion.
Memorial Walk for Reynaluz Juarez, Friday, February 11, 7:50AM
🌻We will be having a memorial walk for Reynaluz Juarez with the Walking School Bus on Friday the 11th at 7:50. Walking from San Pedro library to Whittier Elementary.
To those of you that love Reyna and want to join with others in her honor, please walk with us from San Pedro Library at 7:50 to walk to Whittier Elementary School. Please bring yourself, a song to sing, and mug to drink some tea or hot chocolate out of, a snack to share. We will also be providing warm beverages like coffee and some covid friendly snacks. We will be masking up on the walk. Chalk for drawing, flower petals and offerings for the altar (like pictures, photos, other mementos) at Whittier will be appreciated as well. In-Person Memorial for Reynaluz, Saturday, February 12, 1PM
The family has requested an in-person memorial service. We will meet at East Central Ministries (ECM) playground and warehouse area. The address is 134 Vermont NE, 87108. Due to COVID we will be asking that people wear masks. Seating will be both indoors and outdoors. ECM is allowing extended time so that people can come and go through the afternoon and not need to rush in at 1PM.
Music and speakers will be outdoors in an attempt to be COVID safe.
Parking will be on Vermont NE, Chico NM, and Virginia NE. Just north of Central Ave. (If anyone is available to help walk the area to assist with parking, directions, and security for vehicles please let Enrique know by email enr...@bchealthcouncil.org .)
Bring stories, memories, flowers, colors, love, things for an altar in honor of Reynaluz
We are planning on a blessing, eulogies from the family, music, and an open mic for sharing memories. (We are already having requests to speak which is expected we will do our best to accommodate all.)

Online Memorial for Reynaluz, Friday, February 18, 3PM
Join HEC Friday for a COVID safe online memorial service for Reynaluz. We know that she would not want anyone to get COVID because of her. We understand the desire and need to gather and mourn. We know that not everyone will be able to attend on Saturday. We also know that just in this email there are four memorials.
Hec will develop an agenda for the online memorial and share that during the week. HEC will have at least one person from IDHCC, Many Hands, and Community Schools be able to speak.
If we hear of any other memorials we will share as well.
