If you can get past the lenghy intro this recommendation makes sense. Some good reminders too.

must read.  interesting.

Ever wonder why????
 For the older person....

The bone-building drug you normally throw away

 Why one aunt beat osteoporosis
and the other one didn't
  • A proven natural alternative in your fridge
  • The best source of natural calcium in
the world you'd normally throw away!
  • How to make your own super
    calcium supplement
Take two aunts of a friend of mine... After living through decades of monthly cramps, 5
childbirths between them, then decades of
childrearing followed by the menopause, both
ladies were diagnosed with osteoporosis - a
condition where the bones become weak and
easily broken.

I hate to admit it but...... being a woman can be hard.
I know that
osteoporosis affects men too. It's just
that post-menopausal women are by far the most at
risk.
Thing is, I don't know what's scarier - being
diagnosed with osteoporosis, or suffering the
potential side effects of the anti-osteoporosis
drugs.
Both women were given drugs to deal with it...
but only one of them had any success.
And you won't believe the reason why...
Why one aunt beat osteoporosis and the other
one didn't

This is going to sound really bad... in fact it
sounds like a really stupid thing to do...
But only one of my friend's aunts took their drugs.
The other just threw hers in the bin!
Of course, her family didn't know she was doing
this at the time. If they did, they'd have probably
pinned her to the ground and forced her to take it.
Anyway, without anyone knowing, she just spat
them out and started researching natural ways to
reverse osteoporosis.
On her next assessment a year later, the doctors
were amazed to find that her bone density had
increased significantly, and with no adverse side
effects.
Whatever you're doing, they said, keep doing it.
And the other aunt? The sensible aunt who took
her medicine...?
She was the one that ended up paralysed with pain,
unable to walk for two days.
She was unlucky - it was an unusually bad
reaction. When she stopped the drugs, the pain
stopped too.
So how did the aunt who refused to take her
prescription drugs 'cure' her condition?
The doctors wouldn't have believed her secret if
she'd told them, and you might have trouble
believing her as well.
Because as you're about to discover, her 'remedy'
was so simple, so easy and effective, it's a scandal
so few people know about it.
A proven natural alternative in your fridge

Scientists have known about a healthy, natural
alternative for at least the last six years.
It's just no one thought to tell us about it.
Why?
The only reason I can think of is that there's no
money to be made from it.
Because even though this remedy has been proven
incredibly effective, it's cheap as chips.
In fact, chances are it's already sitting in your
fridge door.
The best source of natural calcium in the world
is something you'd normally throw away!

When the 'cured' aunt started looking for natural
alternatives to treat her osteoporosis, she came
across an amazing study.
Back in 2002, Dutch researchers took a group of
post-menopausal women and gave half of them a
calcium carbonate supplement and the other half
calcium from eggshells.
After a year, the bone density in the women taking
the calcium carbonate had gone right down.
But the bone density for the women taking the
eggshell calcium had significantly increased.
Interesting, isn't it?
A lot of supplement companies make good money
out of perpetuating the belief that if you take a
calcium supplement your bone density will
increase.
But that's not how it works, as the dutch study
shows.
Your body needs more than just calcium for
healthy bones.
B vitamins, vitamin C and D, phosphorus,
magnesium and are all known to be essential.
And that's why eggshell calcium works so well.

Eggshells are made up of calcium and 26 other
elements.

In fact, they're very similar in content to your
bones and teeth.
Don't worry, I'm not suggesting you sit down for
breakfast, eat your dippy egg and then crunch your
way through the remaining shell. There is an easy,
more palatable way to extract all those nutrients.

How to make your own super calcium
supplement

-
Wash some empty eggshells in warm
water and let them dry
- Break them into small pieces and grind
them to into a fine powder. Coffee
grinders work best but a blender or even a
pestle and mortar will do. Store the
powder in an airtight jar.
- Mix 1/2 teaspoon of powdered eggshell
with the juice of half a freshly squeezed

lemon.
The solution will start to bubble and foam.

- Leave at room temperature for 6-12 hours

and that's it! It's ready to take.

Half a teaspoon of eggshell gives you about
400mgs of calcium citrate
, which is the
recommended amount you should take each day.
Ever since my friend's aunt started taking eggshell
calcium, she's been regaining bone density. All
her sisters take it now.
If you've been diagnosed with osteoporosis, why
not give it a go?
And while we're on the subject, here are a few
more natural, proven ways to help prevent
osteoporosis:
- Up your intake of essential fatty acids.
Fish oil containing EPA and GLA has
been shown to protect against
osteoporosis. There are plenty of fish oil
supplements in the shops these days - and
there's always cod liver oil. Or just make
sure you enjoy some
salmon, mackerel,
sardines or other oily fish three times a
week.

- Exercise your way to healthier bones
More than 100 studies show that regular
exercise such as brisk
walking, running,
aerobics, tennis and badminton
strengthen
your bones and lower your risk of getting
a fracture.
- Enjoy the sunshine. Vitamin D increases
the amount of calcium and magnesium
your body absorbs from food. Better still,
it makes sure more calcium enters the
bones and stays there.
Your body produces it when your skin
comes into contact with sunlight. So just
make sure you get outside for at least
20
minutes a day.

- Eat a varied, wholefood diet. It goes
without saying, right? But since calcium is
best absorbed with all the other trace
elements we've been talking about, it
makes sense to eat it in its natural form.

Almonds and broccoli give you plenty of
calcium along with magnesium,
phosphorous, B vitamins and iron - all
essential for healthy bones.
-
Don't cook with aluminium. Studies
have shown that aluminium can inhibit the
parathyroid gland which can then lead to
osteoporosis. So instead of using foil to
cook in the oven, use baking paper.
 To store food, use a
glass container. Avoid
plastic containers
, especially soft, flimsy
ones. They're full of phthalates which
have been linked to cancer. But that's a
whole other story...
