Today, Daniel Ritchman revealed on his Patreon that another Warcraft film was in development at Legendary. The original 2016 film that starred Vikings star Travis Fimmel was bashed on by critics. However, it did make a fair bit of money at the box...

The movies only work if they bring financial success. To get a sequel you require to get some profit from the firt movie. However warcraft movie was a failure. It barely broke it even if it did at all. From financial perspective the movie was made for nothing, maybe even loss depending on how deals were signed.
Nobody would dare to make a sequel in such situation since it would have high chances ending up as a flop and make blizz and whoever they did the movie with lose millions.

Personally I would be thrilled with just an anime series.
Another movie would be great too but I want a series that more focuses on the warcraft universe.
Let the movies re-tell the events from the rts games and other big events.
Let the series focus on adventures of smaller characters and go deeper into the different races and groups traditions and customs.

Yeah the live action kind of threw me off a bit aswell even though I liked the movie overall.
But I have always had the notion that humans in warcraft are bigger, strong and overall more sturdy than in real life.
So seeing these regular humans fighting these hulk like creatures felt odd.
Orcs were always bigger but humans always seemed like bodybuilders to me unless they were a mage. And high elves had the more normal slim human body type.
