Hi,
I just bought a sidewinder 2 and XPForce for FS2020 and although I am happy that the force feedback works, it operates at a bare minimum.
Mostly centre forces are felt and with take off or landing some shaking.
Better something than nothing I think.

Did someone by any chance find a way to improve force feedback in FS2020 with XPforce?
I already maxed out most of the XPforce settings for FFB.
I read somewhere about better FFB with the BETA version of XPforce, I did not try that yet, somebody did?

The best thing is being able to feel trim forces. Let the aircraft get you in the groove and not the stick and then you will start to really enjoy things. Best aircraft for me? Islander, Arrow and the Hawk. All of these are sublime with FFB.

Well, If you go to basics on an aeroplane there are four primary forces of thrust, drag, lift and of course gravity. Flying is a state of equilibrium where these forces are balanced by the aircraft and changes to attitude and power act upon the aircraft and you can sense these forces though the stick and exercise control over the aircraft.

This is such a hopelessly potted version of things and I really recommend you look at Google or YouTube to get more of a feel for the basics. If you can understand or visualise these primary forces you will take this knowledge forward and enjoy your flying much more.

Ah hah, I have seen the same with Flying Iron P-38, the auto pilot seems to not engage but works fine without xpforce. All my other a/c work ok with AP so something is going on here. I might try the beta version on the xpforce site and see if that resplves the issue.

anyone know how to validate the Beta version, I have the normal with licence but when I tried the Beta it just asks for a new licence whilst saying the old licence is valid but for an older version. Any idea?

Firstly, I use the Logitech G940 and this has stronger motors that either of my Sidewinders but it has less subtlety, so I set up with this as a consideration. First thing I ditch, would be the first two settings. All the way back to zero. Pitch and roll strength are where I make the most alterations and I look for weight in the flight model and the sensation of leaning the aircraft into the turn. I do have a good bit of dead zone as well, since all of the aircraft that I fly are cable actuated surfaces and these wear over time and mean that you have to actually fly the aircraft thaat bit more. I am not at the PC right now, so can only give an overview of how I use it. On e you have it zeroed in, you forget it

I know your last point well. I am left handed but had to learn like much else in life, to go right handed The reason Russ from FS force gave up on MSFS was that there was much that the sim wasnt sending out and so he decided to sit it out for now. With XP force, this is as good as it gets at the moment. With the G940 it trims beautifully by feel alone.

I do get ground thumps from airfield surfaces but not grass! Regarding the trim wheels, I actually have three. Buttons on the G940 which I almost exclusively use, one on the HC Bravo which I might only use for ultra fine adjustment on things like the JF PA28 and a third on the Logitech multi panel which I have reprogrammed as a variable vertical speed control, though even there, I use the Streamdeck in preference.

I can see where you are going with your settings. Most of the XPForce settings/effects feel gimmicky/fake. Like why does the stick occasionally bang around when the airplane is off, in calm weather and parked?

X-Plane crashes more and more because of XPForce. I use MS Sidewinder FF2 with X-Plane 10.30 (64bit) on WIndows 8.1 (64bit) and it usually works nice, but sometimes, after doing some stuff in another window on another screen and clicking back on the X-Plane window to bring it to front, X-Plane crashes and in the logfile reads the last line: "--==This application has crashed because of the plugin: XPForce==--". Are you at all reading the comments here? Are you still working on XPForce?

XPForce's features are nice and the forces feel good (at least for the FF2 i own), but the plugin seems to be unstable. That is something the 10 minutes trial won't reveal. Because of that, because you don't write in this section, and because you provide no serious support on your page, i cannot recommend anyone to buy this plugin, which is - you know - sad.

I subscribe 100% what you wrote, I have exactly your same problem with your same joystick when changing windows (e.g. Plan-G) even pausing X-Plane. I hope the developer will read us and release a patch

I own a regular license, i wanted to install the last version just downloaded (i had an old one), the installer seems to install only the manual, the jpg banner and nothing more!! (no plug in files) Someone have the same problem?

I have the same problem with the current download file (*.msi). It seems it doesn't install the actual plugin. I can see only two files in the plugin folder (jpg and banner), and the plugin does not show up in x-plane. I did find an older installer (I think here on x-plane org), which at least installs it so that the plugin does actually show up in x-plane, but it doesn't accept my license key (so it's in demo mode and stops after 10 min). I opened a ticket in the helpdesk section, but so far no feedback ...

You're right, there was a problem with the download. I've updated it as of this morning, and replied to most (but not yet all) of the mails in the helpdesk. I'm sorry about the delay in replying, it's purely down to workload and not an indication that this isn't supported any more.

My venerable MS sidewinder Forcefeedback 2 (16 y.o.) has just returned to life. This plugin is amazing and after a fine tune for each aircraft the feeling of the forces is a very positive experience. Now that Laminar in XP11 has removed the configuration of dead zones in the joystick axes I would suggest an option in the plugin for this purpose. Regards.

Hello friends, I would very much like to test xpforce for xplane11 steam with windows10 x64, but when you open the simulator it does not load the plugin, it stops the loading etrava. How do I solve it, please help me. thank you

In fact this is now available for P3D, FSX and FSW and works identically to the X-Plane version. The downloads for these weren't linked up yet because it's very new and I found a problem in the beta release (which was available on the site) which I wanted to fix first. I've linked these in to the main pages now.

I'll be posting "formal" notifications that it's available once I get this last problem ironed out; for now (Dec 31st 2018) it's still very much useable, the only issue is an occasional "twitch" if the new trim system is enabled.

I've uploaded a new beta to the main website ( , BETA tab) which fixes some problems with the installer on Windows 7 and others. There's nothing specifically for closing the config window though. Could you try the newest one and let me know directly on the support email address if you still have a problem?
