Benis an automata who was once a human. He and his family were in a big traffic accident in Midtown, in which he and his family died. However, Ben owed outstanding debt to the debtcorps and upon dying was turned into an automata and has been forced to work for cloudpunk indefinitely since. Ben blames CORA for the death of his family after overhearing a worker cleaning up the accident he died in say CORA was responsible.

As Rania's controller during her cloudpunk shift, he supplies nav points for jobs and helps her to understand life in Nivalis. He also keeps Rania company at times with non work related conversations, such as when Rania is going up to the Spire for the first time.

Ben stops the corrupt Agent Reoh from murdering Rania and Pashta by preventing Reoh from remotely deactivating Rania's hova, and exposes Reoh's crimes to CorpSec. Because he broke Cloudpunk policy, he is shut down soon after and replaced by another Control. As a last request, he tells Rania, who promised to play him a song on her flute one day, to instead play the song to Pashta.
