Hi,

I am trying to find out interactions and details about some protein ids such as EBI-1058383, EBI-1058350 etc by giving a search in the website: http://www.ebi.ac.uk/intact/

It shows me the correct interactions related to the protein but gives me script error when I click to get information about the protein.

An example of error is:

An Unexpected Error Occurred:

org.apache.myfaces.view.facelets.el.ContextAwareELException: javax.el.ELException: Problems calling function 'iaf:getIdentifierForDasty'

Caused by:
java.lang.NullPointerException - Problems calling function 'iaf:getIdentifierForDasty'
at uk.ac.ebi.intact.view.webapp.util.Functions.getIdentifierForDasty(Functions.java:63)

/pages/molecule/molecule_tab.xhtml at line 14 and column 99 value="#{iaf:getIdentifierForDasty(moleculeViewBean.interactor)}"

+ Stack Trace

+ Component Tree

+ Scoped Variables

Can you please suggest how to get information about the protein itself.

Thanks,
Madhurima

Hi Madhurima,

You just found a bug and a badly formatted protein in our database.

We are currently working on the IntAct web application so we can sort out this bug and release it with the new version. We should be able to redeploy a new version by the end of September (worse case).

The proteins EBI-1058383 and EBI-1058350 are internally created by our curators because they do not exist in uniprot yet. You cannot open the molecule view in our IntAct website for the moment but you can get more information by looking at the interaction result table and play with the columns that are displayed.

Alternatively, you can download the sequence information of these proteins in our big FASTA file provided here: ftp://ftp.ebi.ac.uk/pub/databases/intact/current/various/intact.fasta.

We will work on the issue in the meantime, thanks for reporting the bug.

Regards,

Marine
