AIDS Hip-hop Performance

Hey,

        It's due mid-december and only about a month more for AIDS to come. It's about time that we start doing the choreography. For that, the choreographers need to have a clear vision - a basic plot - in their mind so that you can start with the choreos pretty soon.

So, prepare the first draft of the plot (the screenplay in case of non-thematic performance) of your performance by 20th DECEMBER. Remember this is the FIRST draft. You may modify it later as per our discussions.

Please sincerely follow the deadline. 

Here is a sample (you need not make such fine details - just plot/screenplay and sequences are enough for now):

Freshers' Performance Plot

Father: Ketan Phagat (KP)

Son 1: Hani Singh (HS)

Son 2: Money Ratnam (MR)

Girl 1: Karina Kaif (KK)

Girl 2: Banni Liyo (BL)
Lady 1: Ananya
Lady 2: Dimple

Plot: Ketan’s intro about his Tharkiyap in his college days and his resemblance with Chetan Bhagat. He could not marry his girlfriend (Ananya) but had two sons (twins) with her. Sons’ introduction. (Hani and Money) Hani likes a girl (Karina) but she doesn’t like him. Whereas Money has a girlfriend Banni. One day Ketan brings a lady (Dimple) to their house and introduces to his sons as his fiancé. After Dimple’s departure, Hani feels bad about not having a girlfriend and asks his father and brother for fundae. Hani follows those holy sayings while flirting and finally he proposes Karina and she accepts it. Parallely Money too proposes Banni for marriage and she too accepts. Two of them happily goes to their home along with their respective girlfriends. Dimple (after marrying Ketan), in their house reveals the truth about Banni, that she is her daughter. Meanwhile their father comes and reveals that Karina is Ananya’s daughter.

Probable Performance:
 

Video: Inka naam hai “Ketan Phagat”. Sirf Naam nahi inka kaam bhi Chetan Bhagat se milta hai. Haa, yeh bhi apna college days mei KHOOB machaaya. Dho bachche (2 children: twins) bhi ho gaye. Lekin yeh apni jaan se shaadi toh nahi kar paaya tha.  

        Yeh hai inke dho bachche. Ek hai money, (dikhta hai baap jaisa aur saala iska harkathe bhi baap ki tarah, ek number ka Gunda).

Sequence: Probably Mukkala Mukkabula (for introduction)(<1:15)

Video: Doosra hai Hani (dikhta hai maa jaisa aur hai bhi shareef. Partying senti janta. Kuch develop karke video badhaa saktha hai up to 15 sec). 

Sequence: Fully Faltu (<1:00)

Video: Ye hai Karina kaif. (Iske peecha padtha hai apna Hani. Banda shareef hai, toh bandi yuhi nahi patjaayeegi. Peecha kartha hai lekin Karina ko pasand nahi hai. So, bandi ke peeche padthe hue ek choreo and bandi intro)

Sequence: (Probably) Touch Me, Race (choreo from road to bolly flex mei 2:33 se http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QlZl_kXnLjQ) & (probably) tu mera agal bagal (Rahul Chowdary choreography) (<1:15)

Video: Ye hai Banni Liyo. Ye hai apna Money ki girlfriend. (Banni ke uupar thoda story (fatte) develop karke, video 15 sec tak kar sakthe hai)
 
Sequence: (agar hoga toh ek aur, bandi ka intro song) and a love song, Probably Ishq waala love: Very light choreo (<1:15)

Video: Ketan ek bandi (apna gf) ko leke aata hai ghar aur introduce kartha hai dono bachche ko. (Boltha hai ki iske saath shaadi karne waala hoon mai and all). Bandi nikal jaathi hai and Hani rotha hai ki gf nahi hai. (boltha hai ki peecha pad raha hoon lekin nahi pati… Money bhi thode din mei apni gf ko propose karne waala hai, aap bhi shaadi karne waale hai, mere paas atleast gf bhi nahi hai…) Ketan and Money giving fundae to Hani. (Ki aaj kal bandi shareef log ko nahi pategi, thoda naatak karna padtha hai and all such fundae).(dekh beta bahut kuch karna padtha hai. Starting mei despo nahi hona chaahiye. Thoda patience chaahiye…). Last mei (Papa bolenge ki “aur ye bhi hai beta ki agar bandi patgayi aur tere pyaar mei poora doob gayi na, tab toh sirf naughty cheez hi chaltha hai”) (Dono khushi se dreams mei chale jaayenge)
(Achaanak se voiceover: is poore scenario ko, is poore story ko kaunse Bollywood ke formula lagaathe hai. Bachche ke voice: Sal, Sal nahi patha sal. Sir voice: Ok mai bathaatha hoon)
 
Sequence: (ABCD padhli bahut. Ache cheez Karli bahut. Ab karoonga gandi baat) Gandi Baat (<1:30)

Video: (Money, Banni ko shaadi ke liye propose kartha hai and she accepts it)

Sequence : Money and Banni ka Duet (Complete Duet) (<1:00)

Video: (Hani texting karte hue dikhaayenge aur dikhaayenge ki bandi pat gayi. He too proposes Karina for marriage and she accepts it. Ye baat Hani, Money ko boltha hai and Money bhi apni shaadi ke bhare mei Hani ko bolta hai.)

Sequence: Top Lesipoddi (Telugu Song, Choreo shuru kiye the, ho jaayega) (<1:30)

Video: Dono apne apne bandi ko leke baap ke paas jaathe hai. Baap apni bandi (shaadi ho gaya) ke saath ghar mei honge. (Reveal karenge ki Banni Dimple ki beti hai aur Karina hai Ananya ki beti hai.)

Sequence: Bhudda hoga tera baap. (Last mei aisa kuch voiceover aayega ki “Ye Bhudda nahi, Tharki hai”… and Lights off. poster on screens “Bhudda hoga tera baap” likha hua, aayega and Bhudda ghoom ke “Tharki” ho jaayega.) Lights on and bow. THE END 

P.S: The first duet between Money and Banni is temporary and can be removed. Whereas the second one is important to have a time gap (for me) between two energy sequences. Names of Girls and Lady 2 are temporary. Some videos are not important (no dram part only narration) can be replaced with other things like only voice over and a photo slide show. Both the sequences for the introduction of girl characters are placed assuming a good lead dancer. I propose Sunmukh Sangode for father's role.

Breaking Bad. (hot topic currently and great soundtracks)

Story will revolve around 3 characters : Walter White(WW), Jesse Pinkman(JP) and Gustavo(Gus). Every time there is a dram part, we will use scenes from the TV series itself, show it on the projecter while acting it out on stage simultaneously.

Scene 1 : It starts off with WW (walter white) sitting in front of a doctor. The doctor tells him that he has terminal lung cancer and will survive max for a year or two. Then WW will get up sad and dejected and there will be a sad dance on a track like Teardrop on Fire. 

Scene 2 : WW hasn't told his family about this yet. He is in a family party. There will be a reference where people will understand that he is a chemistry prof. In the party Hank Shrader, his bro-in-law who also works with DEA(drug enforcement agency) offers WW to come along with him the next day to see him catching meth (a drug) -cooks for fun. WW agrees. They go along with police officers to a place where there is a gang using meth and getting high and shit. Their leader is Jesse Pinkman (JP). We will show here a nigga swag dance with JP in the lead. At the end of it police start busting their asses but JP runs away.

Scene 3 : WW realizes JP is a former student of his chemistry class. Goes to his house. And offers him to work together, where WW will use his chem knowledge to cook the purest quality meth while JP will handle the distribution. WW tells him that he is doing this for his family for the money. JP agrees and they start working together. Here there will be some dance sequence with everyone wearing the green lab coats like is shown in BB. At the end they make the purest quality meth which will make them very rich.

Scene 4 : They now need somone who is a very shrewd businessman with a lot of contacts and shit to distribute their product. Enter Gustavo(Gus). Gus is the owner of a food place and a normal honest bussinessman. We will show a dance with corporate clothing here, suits ties etc. But every day after work, he runs a whole meth empire. The suit people exit and people with black tees enter and a kind of dark energetic dubstep krump seq to show who he really is. WW,JP and GUS now start working together and making millions. I have this song in mind for this : No church in the wild by Kanye West.

Scene 5: Gus always keeps a lab assistant in the lab whenever WW and JP is cooking meth. WW realizes that Gus is actually planning to train this lab assistant to make exactly the same product WW makes and then later kill WW and JP. We need to show here a face off between WW-JP and GUS. At the end of which WW manages to kill Gus , (I will develop the exact details soon ) and WW and JP become the undisputable kings of the meth empire. Here at the end immediately after killing Gus, we will dance on the Breaking Bad original sound track and end the performance.

Darkness on stage. Light on dram wala WW. "I recognized him instantly. Jesse Pinkman. Was one of my chemistry class students. Dropped out. So I went to his house the next day, and pitched him an offer. Or rather..blackmailed him"
Light on WW and JP -> " We will cook a chemically stable, and finest quality meth this world has ever seen. I will handle the chemistry and you will handle the distribution. Do you accept? Or should I hand you over to my brother-in-law who happens to be a DEA agent ?" Pinkman sighs and agrees -> "Fine bitch..what all do you need.." Darkness.

Scene 3: There is a lab. 2 people working. Then dancers enter. WW turns to face the audience and says. "I am the master. Owner of the restaurant Los Pollos Hermanos in the day and emperor of a meth empire at night." Light on stage. Gus in center and dancers with suits, ties and trousers. Dance on a suitable music. Dancers exit, people with ghost masks enter and dark hiphop to show Gus' dual nature. Optional dance on "No church in the wild with WW, Jesse and Gus showing that they have united. Lights off. Gus is showing WW his new lab..there is a lab assistant in the lab appointed by Gus.

Scene 5: Dram wala WW " Should have known that Gus is like a snake. The lab assistant that he had appointed wasn't there just to help us, but to learn our technique of making the meth. Once he learnt everything, Gus planned to kill me and my family because he thought I was dangerous. And he was right."

Well, those of you who were present in yesterday's run-through - you pretty well know what a dismal state our performance is in. I'll tell the highlights to those who weren't-

Not being punctual in arriving at the specified time slot, negligence in practicing, and being absent without notifying the choreoheads. All these in addition to the fact that we still have 3 full choreos to learn and practice in just 7 days! 

There are people who come to learn our choreos even when they're not performing. If they can take out time after learning and practicing for 3 other performances, you who is actually performing is atleast expected to turn up on time! 

Whoever misses any practice slot today onwards without any prior notification to the choreohead is likely to get chucked out. 

We are a good team. Our theme is awesome. We can definitely pull off a classic here. But for that we need proper practice and punctuality. Enthu rakho, time pe aao. Ask the choreoheads for any doubts you have without any hesitation.
