IIISLA SUBSCRIPTION AND SLA LICENCE RENEWAL

Dear suveyor colleagues

Ever since the issue of sla renewal and portal problem has cropped, I am called eby many people to help them in getting their licence renewal. Many of them were such whose license had even expired.

I to day visited IRDA personally to find the reason of the delay.

I found that most of the renewals were held up because the IIISLA subscription receipt was not sent to licensing department. 

With this mail I want to remind all the members whose locense is pending for remewal should also ensure their subscription paid and send the receipt to IRDA along with application to avoid delays and held up. 

I also request that council should send reminders to members for payment because there has been some delays on the part of IIISLA also to notify subscription without BF and additional GST. 

Members on the group should circulate and apprise the same to all the members in their respective places so that members licensing renewal is not held up for this.

Dear Mr. Chari and Mr. Sharad Verma

While Mr. Chari has pointed out that IRDAI has some portal problem and personnel problem, Mr. Sharad Verma raised a point that IRDAI should obtain a receipt from IIISLA. I appreciate the opinion and suggestion from both of them. 

In this regard, I would like to mention that Delhi and Haryana Chapter have jointly given a memorandum addressed to the IRDAI chairman thru Delhi Licencing Office which has already incorporated the opinion and suggestion from both of you. Copy of this memorandum is enclosed for the information of the members. 

It is pertinent to mention that this memorandum was given to Delhi Office with consent of President and the Secretary and copy of this was given in IRDA Hyderabad by both of these office bearers. The are following up the issue in Hyderabad, while any necessary liaison in Delhi is being taken by Delhi and Haryana Chapter council. 

Members may go through the memorandum and if suggestion then the same may be forwarded to the president and the secretary to take care while meeting IRDAI officials in this regard.

It is indeed commendable that you visited IRDA to expedite license renewals. While want of IIISLA subscription could be a valid reason, but there are few cases where the portal says " Application under process. No pending documents." Hence I feel IRDA has some other problems either with the software or personnel.

You are right. In fact they try to find it also, but there have been lot of discrepancies in our own subscriptions of IIISLA. More over if they do not find the subscription paid, then they have to ask the applicant for this. 

In you go through the memorandum, this has already mentioned that various information and verification, like IIISLA membership, PAN no, Adhar Card, etc can be verified from respective portals rather then making applicant to get the same Notarised and the make its PDF copy and then upload. All these things defeat the very purpose of going on line renewals. 

I hope Central Council is already active on these issues. Any new suggestion may be made to president to take care in discussions.

Dear Mr. Chari, 

The ID and PW remains open for three months prior to due date of renewal. If one does not log in this period, then ID gets blocked. But the procedure to unblock the ID are available and once can go for it. 

In regard to Form 12, IRDA regulations have insisted upon surveyors to maintain records of survey carried out by you. and file this in annual returns. IRDA is now insisting similar thing on insurance companies also to file their returns with respect to surveyors and survey work. The system is taking shape and in due course of time we hope the things should ease out. 

In any case any professional maintain his/her records of work being done. Doctors maintain  their records of patients and also the medicines given to them. Advocate also maintain diaries and files of cases. Surveyors also maintain (or should maintain) their records of job done and reported. This is otherwise also important to maintain to follow up your fee payment. such a case Filing Form 12 is not difficult or time consuming. 

But actual problem arise when surveyors do not have any record and the file their returns (Form 12) with imagination and this spoils the whole concept of data bank. 

In any case, you may please send your suggestion to the president, who is taking up the issues with IRDAI and I or few like me are only assisting them. The decision and presentation of the issues before IRDAI shall be done by them only.

The memorandum adequately covers all the problems faced by surveyors for License Renewal. I request you to consider the following issues also:

IRDA had stated in their guidelined that the password would automatically expire if not logged in continuously for 3 months.This 3 month cap to be removed. 

As per Insurance Compamy guidelines certain risks are to be mandatory inspected by Licensed Surveyors or insurance officials before accepting proposal. Hence Form 12 should be amended to include Pre Acceptance Risk Inspection jobs also.

As per Gazette Extraordinary Form 12 is an Annual Return. Hence IRDA should access it from their data and do not insist for it during License Renewal

It is surprising that IRDA is demanding the IIISLA receipt. While in check list of application form it is neither mentioned nor there is provision to up load the receipt. Dear Bhatia Ji please pursue this matter to license renewing authority. If the same is pursue this, the pending license may be issued.

The member ship Fee details may be obtained by IRDA from IIISLA website.

If by mistake any surveyor could not sent the IIISLA receipt along with renewal application then what he is to do.

He has to wait for the pending quarry or send the hard copy to IRDA.

Or mail to IRDA. Please provided the proper mail to whom the IIISLA receipt to be mailed.

If you have not attached IIISLA receipt with hard copies, send the same first by E Mail to nim...@irda.gov.in and nare...@irda.gov.in with reference to your SLA NO & SUR No as allotted after subission your on line renewal aaplication and then send its hard  copy also to IRDA Surveyor licensing Deptt Delhi giving reference of your license no and SUR no.
