can we know trend about labour charges in your area for cutting welding labour charges for door skin [outer panel of door] of ford figo & fiesta, specially in FPI [ford prefered policy].

               > Grinding operation.
 
              > Hemming operation
 
              > Spot weld at Door frame side.
 
                I have allowed Rs.1500/- excluding remove and refit of door assy.

Dear Sir,
Most sheetmetal doors are made in three pieces. There's the frame
(which the inner door panel and armrest attach to), the window channel
(which is welded to the doorframe) and the skin (which attaches to the
doorframe and the outside of the window channel).

It is quite convenient remove damaged steel door skins and attach new
ones. After a little paint, the door looks new again. Not too long
ago, installing a new sheetmetal skin meant it had to be plug welded
to the door and window frame in dozens of locations. Plug welds took
the place of the factory-applied spot welds. Since most of us don't
own a MIG welder (or any welder at all), reskinning a door hasn't been
a do-it-yourself job.

However, thanks to modern, specifically designed two-part adhesives,
body shops now glue new door skins to their frames. These adhesives
are available to backyard mechanics, too, so door reskinning is
something you can now do at home. Bonus: Gluing can result in a
stronger repair than welding

Unfortunately All modern vehicle are having part number of Door Skin
Panel But it rearly used by Repairer because here is abundant salvages
at dealer points who are using the same to get it repair after paint
it were found very difficult for the ordinary camera helded surveyor
to estimate the same as new or old. Because surveyor have not yet
facilitated with the adequate survey fees to avail the tools and
equipment. and this is the reason that ICR are picking up with non
requirement surveyor & Loss assessor other than labor contractor of
the claim Management.

Please check to discuss as what are the re-infocement point of
measurement is to be considered before de-skinning of any door from
it's frame.

What are the 3M product is available in Market for this particular Job
with it's capacity/specification/consumption.

Only after this knowledge of clearification one surveyor can assess
the loss without any obligation of repairer's signature of acceptance.

If you want to drop this topic. no problem as it can not be stoped
country wide as only Tata Aig And Bharti AXA are adopting the concept
of salvage scrape and not all we surveyor which is the deep concern of
the IIISLA activity.

30% of Cost of spare+ disposing salvage+ Full painting charges . Why
will any dealer settle for anything less.
Say a door is Rs. 5000/-, Then net minimum earnings1500+750+1500=Rs
3750/-

Dear Sir,
It is quite logical that a surveyor can not be treated as authority for which repairer are bound to accept the repair labour charges or replacement charges.
Question is here we are badly used by insurer to get acceptance letter of assessment from repairer for the continuity of the future prospective jobs.
In the other side we surveyor have no any authority to cut down the profit margin of repairer but it is our social resposibility to control the scamming of insurance money for which we assigned by the FM on this particular job.
Let us consider your case of door replacement asking profit say Mid segment Hyundai door new cost Rs 5000/-
Replacement time  1,5 hrs as per HMI LTS Manual
Paint Time as per HMI LTS Manual 2.5 hrs less .5 hrs ( as paint preparation / wind up time ) work are being done for multi panel job i.e. net paint time 2 hrs.
 
Say HMI Recommended man Hour in round figure for easy calculation RS 200/- which is inclusive of all over heads man Hour + Depriciation man Hour + Taxation Man hour + Decleared profit Man Hour.
Than with the reference of the recommendation of HMI Manual what ought to be actual time Labour charges for the Door panel   (1.5 +2.0 ) X 200/-  = Rs 700/-
 
Let us consider the labour material Indent required.
 
Since it is new panel it does not required 2k primer I mean 1k primer after check putty is recommended whose coverage with 40 PSI spay of 5.8 sq mtr per 25 microns with material cost per liter max Rs 1000/- means per sq ft per micron material cost max 0.50 so primer cost ( 13 Sq Ft X 30 Microns Max X 0.50 ) = Rs 195/-
Let us check the material for the base coat  similarly ( ( 13 Sq Ft X 30 Microns Max X 1.10 ) = Rs 429/-  max 50 psi
and cost of clear coat  (( 7 Sq Ft X 30 Microns Max X 0.80) above 60 -70 psi which dependent upon the type of gun used  = Rs 168/-
(LET US IGNORE THE PAINT PREPARATION AND WIND UP MATERIAL WHICH WILL BE ADDED AFTER ADDING ALL INDIVIDUAL PANEL PAINT COST OF THE PARTICULAR OF THE JOB CARD )
 
tHAN WHAT WILL BE THE MAX ACTUAL COST OF THE dOOR ( 700/- + 195/- + 168/- +429 ) = Rs 1492/-  with consideration of the application thickness of 30+50+20 = 100 microns and total thinkness expected after repair 100 + 20 micron ( as coming from new eddy coated door panel from manufacturer ) = 120/- 
 
(NB: new vehicle coming from the manufacturer with thickness of mettalick painted vehicle 50 micron  and solid paint vehicle 70 Microns, is please to be noted )
 
Now come to the point of negotiation.
 
A dealer never ask opening fitting labour charges of door more than of  Rs 200/- where as we can assess for (1.5 *200) =350/-
 
A dealer will be satisfied if they get Rs 200/- + Paint 70% of Rs 2900/- = Rs 2230/-
 
that means they are asking some amount more against HMI LTS Manual i.e. (2230 -1492) =   738/-
That means repairer will deposit the extra paint materials of cost Rs 738/- which is again cause 150 micron more deposit than total expectede deposit will be 120 + 150 = 270 Micron
 
which can be inspected during re-inspection through the paint gauge and letter report will be issued on addressing to insured with CC to Repairer / Insurer and Insured can go for FIR against repairer as 420 IPC.
 
THan why we are begging to them they are not GOD that they can deposit the paint materials on new door panel of 270 Micron.
 
SO WE ARE LEAST CONCERN TO CUT DOWN THE PROFIT OF THE REPAIRER TO GET ACCEPTANCE BUT WE ARE CONCERN TO DO ASSESSMENT FOR THE PROPER INDEMNIFICATION WITH RISK MANAGEMENT OF FRAUDE / SCAMME.
 
AND THAT IS WHY IT WERE REQUESTED TO BHATIA SIR TO DEVELOPE SUCH PLATFORM WHERE ALL SURVEYOR WILL GET FREE ONLINE TOOLS OF CALCULATION WHERE ANY BACK OFFICE OPERATOR CAN INPUT THE SURVEYOR 'S INSPECTORIAL DATA TO GENERATE THE TECHNICAL REPORT OF AUTOMATED CALCULATION TO ISSUE LETTER TO CONCERN IN LEGAL FORMAT.
 
AND WE CAN MAKE FULL STOP TO ALL CORPORATE SURVEYOR TO STEAR OUR ROOTI ROZI MATTER.
 
THAT IS WHY I AM TALKING PROJECT OF MR SHAILESH IS APPEARING QUITE APPROPRIATE.
