Dear Friends,

INSTITUTE OF LOSS ADJUSTERS is proud to bring you an announcement which would be of interest to you.

ILA has organized an industrial visit to the first of its kind 1000 MEGAWATT KOODANKULAM NUCLEAR POWER PROJECT for all Surveyors and Loss Assessors in India.

You are aware that our Nation is starved of power crisis (we mean electrical power) in spite of having various sources of electrical power generation, like atomic, hydel, thermal, wind, etc.  It is believed by the people of Tamil Nadu that once this Russian built nuclear reactor is commissioned and starts generating power, which is expected on 15th of December, 2012, the present power crisis in the state would be reduced to a greater extent.

After moving through various official sources, our Organiser for this visit, Mr. T.M. RENGANATHAN of Nagerkovil (Kanyakumari District) was able to get permission for a maximum of fifty (50) surveyors to visit the plant for a whole day, which is scheduled by the authorities on 01.12.2012 (first Saturday).   You would admit that this sort of industrial visit is very rare opportunity and not easily permitted by the concerned authorities and that too for a plant that is facing a lot of opposition.  Once the power generation starts, the chances of our getting permission to visit may be remote.

We would also admit that the time is very limited for your arranging the travel.  But considering the importance of the visit, some sort of arrangements may be made by you to reach Tirunelveli or Nagerkovil if you wish to participate in the industrial visit.  We would be arranging maxi-cabs from Tirunelveli and Nagerkovil to Koodankulam on a sharing basis.  Lunch and snacks would also be arranged within the plant at the appropriate timings.

All the visitors are requested to adhere to the following:-

  • Please come with your shoes on, as expected in any industrial visit.  Chappals / Sandaks may not be allowed.  Also avoid loose clothing and casual wears and wear formals.
  • Please leave your mobile phones and cameras in the vehicles or your room itself.  KKNPP is a protected zone where mobiles and cameras are strictly not allowed inside.
  • Please carry your original ID with address and photograph such as pass-port, driving licence, voter ID, etc. which is a must for production at the security before being permitted inside.
  • All the visitors will be allowed at one go as a group to enter the plant at 10 AM only.  Later comers may not be allowed inside.

If you are interested to join the visit, please register your name, SLA No., full address, e-mail and mobile/landline contact details to ila....@gmail.com.  The time of pickup in the maxi-cabs at the respective places would be informed in due course.

No fee for registration will be charged by ILA.  Only the actual expenses incurred for travel would be shared amongst the participants.

Register your name immediately.  Maximum permitted visitors are 50 only.

Thanks.

Dear Sir,
That is good news and great opportunity for all the Surveyors. Time is definitely short, but for those who can manage should not be very difficult.  I wish the event grand success and the group return as an enlightened lot on the power production process, equipment and safety measures deployed in the Plant.

Thanks & Regards,
dcs raju, hyderabad.

This is very good opportunity to Surveyor's and those
