With Profound grief and sorrow, we deeply regret to inform you of the sad demise of Shri Jagat Krushna Patnaik, a highly respected and renowned Insurance Surveyor, having SLA No. 13721 and IIISLA Membership No. F/E/00195. He passed away peacefully on 21st June 2025 at around 9:30 PM at his residence located at Kokila Garden, Pokhariput, Bhubaneswar.

Mr. Patnaik was a retired Navy officer and a qualified Naval Architect, which is equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. After serving the Indian Navy with distinction, he joined the insurance survey profession in 1986. With over 40 years of rich experience, he made a remarkable contribution to the industry.

He was the founder of several reputed surveyor firms in Odisha and played a key role in nurturing and building them into successful and respected organizations. His professional journey also took him overseas, where he served as a surveyor in Muscat, Oman, gaining valuable global exposure.

Mr. Patnaik was not just known for his technical expertise, but also for his excellent communication and marketing skills. He was always warm, approachable, and respectful to everyone—be it friends, colleagues, or juniors. His humble nature and encouraging personality earned him admiration and affection across the industry.

The loss of Shri Jagat Krushna Patnaik is a deep and irreparable void for the surveyor fraternity. His legacy, leadership, and guidance will always be remembered. He was truly a pillar of the profession in Odisha.

We will always miss him. May his noble soul rest in peace.
