Hi Rao
Just sent u links which have formula u r looking for.
Make internet your friend.
Best luck.
The real challenge is not just calculating loss as per this formulae but to get insured broker team to consent on that.

Hi Vasanth,

The following is the Lloyd's formula, I am using since 1982, and you do not have to wrack your brain, it is  very simple

QUANTITY DAMAGED =         4T(D – T) W

D2 – C2
Where,  T    =  Radial Depth of Damage in Inches
D   =  Dia of the Reel
               W  =  Wight of Reel
C   =  Dia of the Core

Best Regards

Dear Sir,
You may go through the suggested site by Sri Rao or apply the below given formula on each print roll and get the wt. of the damaged portion of the roll in kgs. You may converted the wt. unit in MT

4T(D-T)*W/D2-d2

T = Damage of roll in cm
D = Dia of roll in cm
d = Dia of bobbin in cm
W = Wt. of the roll in kgs
D2 & d2 = D square & d square

Dear Mr Hari Om

I think there is some mistake in your formula. The core Dia does not appear in it, in fact not relevant as that shall be common in either case. The formula can be derived by simple algebra.

But no body is mentioning if the core is cut and damaged. Then what.

Dear Sir,
The Dia (d) of the bobbin is the core dia and in case of cut/ damaged of it. The change in core size does not effect, as the Dia (D) will also changed.
