Depreciation Rates of computers/Laptops

Dear Sirs,

Greetings !!!

Please suggest me on the depreciation rates of computers and laptops. As per IT Act it is showing 60%. In contrast, in my opinion, if we take lifetime of computer/laptop of 5 years it will be 20%.

Please give your opinions and suggestions.

For Insurance Claim depreciation @ 20% to 25% is adequate.

right 20 to 25% is reasonable and acceptable to mass

Shri Krishna,

Deprecation as per IT act can not be consider in Insurance.

Rather in insurance, we have to assess loss to a particular insured.

For a simple shopkeeper rate of depreciation should be lower and for a software professional, it should be higher.

Dear Friend,

Depreciation consider on the basis upon life and life of cmp n laptop is 4 to 5 year. So reasonable dep. 20 % to 25%.
