THERE IS NOT MUCH DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO.
HOWEVER, STOCKS IN PROCESS CAN BE THE STOCKS LYING IN THE PROCESS SECTION AND STOCKS
UNDER PROCESS MEANS STOCKS IN THE MACHNERY OR UNDERGOING PROCESS.

Dear Sir,
Stocks in process essentially involves transformation of subject
matter itself, like the pharma product which gets processed to reach
its next stage, drying process, distillation (crude to various other
outputs) process and so on. Stocks in process (or more aptly work in
progress) involves all that material that either already in process,
or under different stages of cleaning, refining, blending, machining,
grinding and so on ... or simply put - all that engulf the stocks
category, other than raw material, finished goods, consumables and
scrap.

In common parlance however, I think both are synonomous and mean the
same.

Thanks & Regards,

Dear Sir,

From your reply, let me say that the stocks under process includes stocks under process; but all stocks under process are not stocks undergoing process?
Some of the policies excluded stocks undergoing process (Ex. IAR policies) and stocks undergoing process can not be covered under some extensions (Ex. Declaration Policies).

Other members may also reply to have more light on the subject.

It can be simplified as "Raw", "Semi finished" and " Finished" goods....
