Merger of PSU insurance Companies

Dear Friends,
There is rumor in the offices of PSU insurer companies that Govt is
thinking on merger of NIA with NIC and OIC with United. Is this report
is genuine . If any body having information Please share.

The news is on since long with addition that abut 10% of the
Government holding to be sold in IPO. However how is it going to
influence surveyors is matter of concern. DO you think it shall
influence any way?

Dear Bhatia Ji,
When there is change in managment, Change in contacts and change in
surveyor allocation. I think If merger occured surveyors will be
affected in negative way. Same as hub culture has created
centralisation of powers means selection of only few surveyors , the
same way merger will change the things.

The Government has decided to divest around 26% stake in the PSU. It may be more or less later on. The merger of 4 PSU into 2, will be over by 31-03-2010 and listing of the companies will be around December, 2010.
